This was a wedding we filmed at the Indianapolis Museum of Art (IMA) for Jenny and David. We had an opportunity to learn more about them before the wedding in filming a couples interview. This is a great way to document how they met, the proposal and how the relationship developed. This interview was woven into the fabric of the wedding film. We spent the morning with Jenny’s family as she prepared for the day and they made us feel so welcome. We always enjoy this time because it gives us an opportunity to get some candid moments and to see some of the personalities come out. The wedding was so beautiful being on the grounds of the IMA. We loved the sonnet that David wrote for Jenny, it gave the ceremony a personal touch. Jenny’s Maid of Honor is a concert pianist and she played a couple of pieces during the reception and she was phenomenal. It was amazing being that close to her and watching her hands and fingers take over that piano. We worked again with Photographer Andrew Scalini and Event Planner, Casey Scott.

If you can remember back to January of this year we posted the trailer to Katie and David’s wedding.  When we woke up that morning we remember thinking it looked like such a beautiful sunny day for a wedding.  The wind chills were hitting -6 degrees….Yikes!   We were worried about getting shots because of the temps and concerned about the couple and bridal party being outside.  They all braved the cold in good spirit to get some of the most fabulous photos of their wedding day taken by our wonderful friends Stefanie and Brock Childs of SB Childs Photography.

A few things we noticed about this wedding had nothing to do with the way things looked, although the wedding was beautiful, it was the people involved in the couples lives that impacted us.  It was quite evident that this was a close family and a very large family.  Some poignant moments were when Katie had her first look at what she looked like with her wedding dress on, her walk down the aisle with her father and the look of anticipation that David had as he watched his Bride approach.  Other moments were the heartfelt speeches of Katie’s Dad, David’s brother and Katie’s 2 sisters, which by the way cracked us up.  Another moment we enjoyed was when Katie asked her Grandfather to be a part of the formal dances, which was a surprise to him.  You could tell he enjoyed that special dance.   How great this will be for Katie and David to be able to share their wedding day with their children and to be able to talk about this important time in their life.

Dave and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the time you spent making our video. We watched it on our 6 month anniversary…can’t believe it was that long ago. It’s been a little over a year since Whitney and I became husband and wife and it has been the greatest year yet. Looking back on our first year as a married couple has brought back so many memories. Since then we have made some changes in careers and many changes to our house in Fishers. I have decided to spring into the wedding industry and coordinate weddings as well as work part time as a teacher. Whitney has made many updates to the inside of our home including an outdoor oasis. We enjoy many things together and especially playing with our pups Lucy and Lacy. This first year as newlyweds has been a blast and we couldn’t have asked for more! It has flown by and it reminds us to take time to look back and remember all those moments in life that go by so quickly.

As we approached our first year anniversary, we also knew how much fun it would be to look back at our wedding film produced by John and Jennifer of Northernlight Filmworks. It brought back even more great memories of our wedding day. We just love bringing it out every now and again to remind ourselves of what a great day it was. Having them capture every moment with family and friends was the best thing we could have decided to do. We always know we will have this film to watch for years to come! We can’t thank John and Jennifer enough for the amazing work they put together for us!

We enjoyed getting to know Brent and Megan and their wedding was beautiful. We spent some time prior to the wedding getting some footage of the engraving of their rings and we also were able to capture their final dance lesson prior to the wedding day. Brent and Megan wrote their own vows, which we love. Megan’s father plays in a band and he sang to her for their father daughter dance. The wedding was at the Mavris Arts and Event Center, which is one of our favorite places to shoot. We also worked with Photographer, Danny Iskandar
